  If you want classic barbecue in a no-frills setting, be sure to put Deep Run Roadhouse at the top of your list. This unpretentious counter-serve joint makes some of the best food around, barbecue or otherwise. Located a stone's throw from these Richmond homes for sale, Deep Run Roadhouse offers exceptional regional barbecue, Tex-Mex, and comfort food, with catering as well as takeout. 
  
  
• Freakin BBQ - 1164 Wilkinson Rd, Richmond, VA 23227
  Established in 2010, Freakin BBQ is one of the best spots in Richmond to get North Carolina-style pulled pork, ribs, brisket and smoked chicken. Open daily and offering both indoor and outdoor seating, Freakin BBQ serves up mouthwatering barbecue dinners with classic sides like coleslaw, baked beans, collard greens, and potato salad. 
  
  
• Saucy's Sit-Down BarB.Q - 257 E Bank St suite c, Petersburg, VA 2380
  With a modern, minimalist space and some of the best barbecue in the area, Petersburg's Saucy's Sit-Down BarB.Q is hard to beat. The food here has twice been singled out by Southern Living Magazine and includes killer pulled pork, brisket, chicken, and ribs. With indoor and outdoor patio seating and a convenient location near these Petersburg homes for sale, this is a place that demands repeat visits. 
  
  
• K&L Barbecue - 1410 Cavalier Square, Hopewell, VA 23860
  If you're looking for a classic, down-home barbecue joint with a welcoming atmosphere and no-nonsense attitude, check out K&L Barbecue. Established in 1994, this community staple in Hopewell celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Their food has been consistently excellent throughout those three decades, including pork and beef barbecue, fried chicken, and ribs. They serve some great desserts too, and you can grab a bottle of their original BBQ sauce for the road. 
  
  
• ZZQ Texas Craft Barbeque - 3201 W Moore St, Richmond, VA 23230
  You'll find many styles of BBQ in Virginia, but relatively few spots that serve up genuine Texas BBQ. Founded in 2013 by native Texan and pit master Chris Fultz and his wife Alex Graf, ZZQ Texas Craft Barbecue brings a little of the Lone Star State to Richmond. The meats here are smoked low and slow in true Texas fashion, and it's not unusual to find a line out the door waiting for ribs, brisket, and smoked sausage.
  
  
• HogsHead Cafe - 8902 W Broad St, Richmond, VA 23294
  Richmond's HogsHead Cafe doesn't serve exclusively barbecue, but they do offer some of the best ribs and pulled pork in town. The menu here features barbecue alongside burgers and classic Southern dishes like hush puppies and po' boys. Arguably the most famous offering at HogsHead Cafe is the Hog Dog, a bacon-wrapped jumbo beef hot dog that is deep-fried and topped with generous portions of hand-pulled pork, "Hog Sauce" and slaw.
