Richmond Area Professional Photographers
The holiday season always allows us to be grateful for our family.  Your family is constantly changing whether it's with a brand new baby or a rescue dog. Now is the ideal time to document every member of your expanding family. Whether you're looking for newborn photos or lifestyle sessions with the family dog, our real estate agents can recommend their favorite family photographers in the Richmond area.

  1. Rebecca D'Angelo Photography - Serving the Richmond area
Rebecca D' Angelo Photography specializes in photographing animals and their families. She loves capturing the loving relationship each person has with their pet, and how pets are part of the family too.  She also does family and wedding photography but her passion lies with including the animals throughout. While you're in the area, take the time to tour some Richmond homes for sale.

Winter Family Fun Near Richmond
While winter doesn't officially arrive until December 21, our latest Richmond snowfall suggests a different story.

Our real estate agents know that when you are touring homes for sale in Richmond, you want to move to a city that gives you everything you want including activities for your entire family. Richmond has it all!

Whether the thermostat sends you outside (or tells you to stay indoors), here are five of our favorite opportunities for your family to experience local fun.

  1. Science Museum of Virginia - 2500 West Broad St., Richmond, VA 23220
The Science Museum of Virginia is one of the most celebrated STEM-focused museums in the United States. It's a self-described "catalyst for innovation" that focuses on highly interactive exhibits and dynamic programs to capture the imaginations of visitors. You're sure to learn something new – and the museum is conveniently open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week.

Central Virginia Meet Santa
Here at Napier ERA, our real estate agents love all the excitement of the holiday season. The hustle and bustle of the holidays are worth it to see the looks of joy on children's faces. It's the season to dream big, and that means none other than Santa Claus makes an appearance!

No matter whether you're visiting Richmond to look at homes or you've already set down roots here, you're sure to find some real Christmas excitement in Virginia. Towns, museums, and malls will have cheerful holiday displays headlined by "the big guy" himself.

Let's look at five local favorites:

  1. Sensitive Santa Sensory-Friendly Visit - Children's Museum of Richmond - 626 W Broad St., Richmond
The Richmond Children's Museum is offering a visit with Old St. Nick through its Sensitive Santa program. It's a calm, quiet experience for kids who sometimes find things overwhelming. Visitors will have access to Children's Museum Downtown exhibits and the Genworth Holiday Village, too – hey, who knew that the North Pole was so close to Richmond homes for sale?

Central Virginia Turkey Trots Family Fun
The Thanksgiving "turkey trot" is an annual tradition our real estate agents love – and we're not the only ones. Plenty of area families sign up for a turkey trot each year. It's a great way to earn that extra slice of pumpkin pie! Luckily, there are plenty of options across the Richmond area.

The turkey trot is the most popular racing trend in America. In 2015, Thanksgiving became the single busiest day of the whole year to run a race, finally unseating the Fourth of July. Believe it or not, the turkey trot tradition goes all the way back to 1896.

That's right – 1896!

The first turkey trot ever took place in Buffalo, New York and was hosted by the local YMCA. While there were only six participants in that original race, today's turkey trots attract hundreds!
